Companies defining the "clean energy future" outperform fossil fuel corporations

As You Sow  together with Corporate Knights  released the fourth update of the Carbon Clean 200 list [1]. The Carbon Clean 200 (CC 200) comprises the largest publicly traded companies that make significant revenue from clean energy.

Despite rising oil prices, companies in the CC 200 grew by twice as much as companies in S&P Global 1200 Energy index [2] since July 2016 (see graph).

In order to be eligible for the CC 200, a company must have a market capitalization greater than $1 billion and earn more than 10% of total revenues from New Energy sources.

Some of the largest companies include Siemens, Toyota, Schneider Electric, Panasonic and Tesla.
